Samar Jonube are our principle supplier of Dates from Iran. We visit their factory at least three times annually, visiting the growers, discussing local issues, checking stocks, and assisting with technical issues.

The south west region of Kuzestan, Iran, is perhaps once of the most difficult areas in the world from which to supply raw material suitable for the U.K. food industry. Mehdi Atri who owns and runs Samar, went back to Iran after 12 years running his own successful U.K. processing company. He not only understands intimately what we do in the U.K., he understands the demands of our clients and what we need from him if we are to be successful. This relationship is one of the keys to our success.

In addition to taking an active role in the technical issues surrounding processing, Western Organics trade Iranian Dates worldwide directly from Samar Jonube. It takes more than a spoonful of confidence to send fruit directly from Iran to New York for instance. We do so confident in the knowledge that the systems we have put in place at origin are robust, competently implemented and managed. We know we can trust our supplier. Our international clients know we will not let them down.
